EarthRise Arts was founded in New York City in 2001 by Derek Beres and Craig Anthony Miller. For many years, the duo produced numerous art parties in lower Manhattan and Brooklyn, where international music acts and DJs met up-and-coming street artists from around the tri-state region. For Derek, the “Infusion” parties were a chance to explore his career in international music production, DJing and journalism, while for CAM they offered an opportunity to showcase his unique canvases, prints and line drawings. The inclusion of author Dax-Devlon Ross, whom Derek co-founded Outside the Box Publishing with in 2005, added a literary dynamic to the parties. Today the three men remain occasional business partners, but more importantly supporters and fans of each other. Most importantly, they remain good friends.

It was at an Infusion party at the Bowery Poetry Club that the crew met Jill Ettinger, who immediately took to the community, art and music that the EarthRise crew was a part of. She quickly became involved in the parties, working closely on numerous events while she pursued her own career in the health food industry, as well as burgeoning ambitions in journalism and photography. Jill continued to be involved in event production upon moving to Los Angeles in 2009, helping to head up the evolutionary Evolver initiatives on the West Coast.

EarthRise Arts will resume its activities when Derek moves to Santa Monica in November, 2011, to continue his career in international music and yoga. Stay tuned for breakthrough events involving the best music, art, literature and more, 3,000 miles from its starting point, yet still directly hitting the heart of the 21st century artistic community.
